Gayle King stays in the Dogpound!

Oprah Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King caught some heat after an interview with former WNBA player Lisa Leslie. During the interview, Gayle and Lisa Leslie discussed Kobe Bryant and his rise in the NBA. However, Gayle also brought up the Black Mamba’s 2003 rape charge by asking Lisa Leslie if Kobe’s past tarnished his legacy. Lisa responded by saying “I don’t think it’s something that we should keep hanging over his legacy.” The interview did not sit well with many including 50 Cent, Lebron James, Vivica A. Fox and Snoop Dogg.
Snoop Dogg went on social media and heavily criticized Gayle King by posting a video on his Instagram calling her a “Funky, dog-haired bitch.” Snoop also demanded respect from Gayle for Kobe’s family.
On the other hand, Oprah later came to her friend’s defense by appearing on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna where she broke down and stated that Gayle had received death threats and was fearing for her life because of the interview. Gayle’s friend, Oprah has been supportive of her throughout this entire situation.
Snoop Dogg has apologized to Gayle since then in another video that was uploaded on social media and he has also deleted the original video that was posted on his Instagram. Snoop responded, “I would like to apologize to you publicly for the language that I used and calling you out of your name and just being disrespectful.”
A public memorial service for Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi Bryant will be held at the Staples Center next Monday, Febuary 24, 2020.
